Mini-Reivew: Highschool of the Dead: Drifters of the Dead

HOTDDOTDHighschool of the Dead: Drifters of the Dead is an OVA made to accompany Highschool of the Dead (review here). The episode was released on April 26th, 2011. The episode follows Takashi Komuro and his motley crew of fellow high school students who are trying to survive the ongoing zombie outbreak. In their quest for respite, the gang winds up upon a tropical island. And so they decide to take a break from the zombie killing and have some fun in the sun.

My Review: Who would have thought that a show like Highschool of the Dead needed more fan service. Well apparently someone did and so this was created, and with a cover like that Drifters of the Dead seeks to accomplish that one goal. It adds nothing to the original series and none of the characters are developed in any way. But who needs any of that when there’s fanservice aplenty. If you liked the original show then give it a watch, it’s a fun way to end the series. Related image

I rate this anime 4/10.
